Hagerstown Tougher rental unit inspections
Are you considering making the plunge and becoming a landlord?
Hagerstown tougher rental unit inspections, The City of Hagerstown is considering tougher rental unit inspections but Council members are not getting the support from all the local landlords who think is already too expensive to deal with the current rental system, and obviously is making it more difficult for landlords to profit from the already distress business.
The propose regulations will refer to exterior and interior inspections of rental units, that will increase the number of rental unit inspectors and increasing the rental licensing fees to pay for the changes.
Currently the exterior inspection is require every two years for units, but city officials are recommending a once a year inspection!! REALLY? Rental licensing fee will be increased from $50.00 to $75.00 per unit
City officials believe that there are too many neglected and mismanaged properties throughout Hagerstown and more regulations are needed, I think there are more good landlords than bad ones, I don’t see why a GOOD LANDLORD need absorb the cost for the way few people manage their properties
All this regulations will help to keep investors out of Hagerstown, when in reality the City Of Hagerstown should be implementing ways for investors to do what they do best BRING MONEY TO HAGERSTOWN and help revitalize the already dead zone “ Downtown” TOO MANY REGULATIONS, why an investor will come to downtown Hagerstown?
